William James Palm, age 80 of Loysville, went home to be with the Lord at home on Monday, February 17, 2025. Bill was born in Port Royal on September 15, 1944, to the late James “Jack” M. and Anna Mae (Burdge) Palm. He is survived by his daughter, Lesley A. Brandt (Timothy) of Loysville; and his sister, Lucinda “Cindy” Naylor (Stephen) of New Bloomfield. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Nancy Grace (Snyder) Palm, who died in 2011; and his son, Allen W. Palm, who died in 2014.
Bill graduated with the Class of 1962 of Blain Union School. He passionately served as a volunteer firefighter for Ickesburg Fire Company, Shermans Dale Fire Company, and Blain Fire Company and Ambulance. He was a member of the Madison Grange #2064 of Loysville. Bill worked as a Systems Analyst for Quaker Oats, from which he retired after over 30 years of service. He still needed something to do, so he started his second career at Walmart for another ten years. Bill had a background in agriculture and loved the outdoors. He loved hunting and would tell a joke to spark a smile. He was easy going and so approachable with a welcoming smile always at the ready. He was always willing to drive the Amish as well as go to the hunting cabin and play cards with friends. Bill also enjoyed his friends and fellowship with his bowling league in New Bloomfield.
