Tyler J Wonders

Tyler J. Wonders of Landisburg, died unexpectedly and too young in his home on August 20, 2024.  Born in Harrisburg on April 14, 2003, Tyler is survived by his parents:  Andrew J. and Rachel M. (Trayer) Wonders of Landisburg; fiancée, Jewel L. Berry of Newport; two siblings:  Austin J. Wonders (Haley) of Carlisle and Kaitlyn M. Wonders (John) of Shermans Dale; paternal grandparents:  Larry J. and Janice M. (Miller) Wonders of Dillsburg; maternal aunt:  Pearl E. Yost of Etters; paternal aunts:  Angela M. Horan and Alicia A. Arnold, both of Dillsburg; cousins:  Sophia, Gabriella, Olivia, Garrett, Aiden, Hailie, and Kerissa; and many nieces and nephews.

Tyler graduated with the 2021 Class of West Perry High School.  He was very athletic and was renowned for his wrestling and football sportsmanship.  While in high school, he attended vocational technical school where he studied auto mechanics.  After high school, Tyler served in the United States Navy in military aviation.  Upon return to civilian life, he worked as a Cell Tower Technician with STS Communications, who provides tower services for all the major carriers in the telecommunication industry. 

Tyler’s family and friends all described him as an “adrenaline junkie”.  He loved the outdoors, action, and any motorized vehicle with wheels.  He was passionate about hunting and fishing – once fishing 16 hours straight.  Kayaking was one of his favorite pastimes, as well as mountain biking and riding 4-wheelers and dirt bikes.

Funeral services for Tyler will be held in the Perry Mennonite Reception Center, located at 350 Green Park Road, Elliottsburg, PA  17024.  The evening visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday, August 25.  The funeral service will be held the following day at 11 AM, officiated by Pastor Rafe S. Sanderson, pastor of New Life Assembly of God in Landisburg.  There will be an hour visitation prior to the funeral service (10 – 11 AM) on Monday, August 26.  The family requests that everyone attends wearing casual clothing.  Tyler fully embraced being comfortable!  Interment will follow the funeral services on Monday and will be private and by invitation only.
