Thomas Andrew Loy, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
Born October 10, 1933 in Loysville, he was the son of the late Hugh A. and Izora E. (Gutshall) Loy and was also preceded in death by his brothers: Dean E. Loy, Paul G. Loy, and Morris C. Loy.
Following his 1951 graduation from Blain Union High School, Thomas served in the US Army for two years and retired from the Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg.
He was a lifetime member of Centre Presbyterian Church, Loysville where he was pianist and actively helped in many different areas. Thomas enjoyed traveling to many countries, and was an avid cyclist, photographer and master woodcrafter. Music, however, was his greatest joy, especially classical.
Surviving is his sister: Dorothy L. Hall (and her husband, Roy), New Bloomfield; his sister-in-law: Martha Loy, Carlisle; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends from work and church, all of whom will miss him greatly.
A memorial service will be planned as soon as it is safe to have large gatherings. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Contributions in his memory may be made to his church, 3912 Freeman Hollow Road, Loysville, 17047.
Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc., Loysville is handling arrangements.
