Sharon L (Smith) Broadwater

Sharon L. (Smith) Broadwater, 68 of Mechanicsburg, died October 29, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born in Altoona on March 4, 1957, to the late North and Kathryn Ann “Kitty” (German) Smith, Sharon is survived by her son, Thor L. Hier of St. Augustine, FL; grandchild, Atlas; and two siblings:  Patti Harrild of Mechanicsburg and Jeffery Smith of Blain.  In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her beloved husband of ten years, George Broadwater, who died in 2019; and two siblings:  Craig Smith and Diane Stuckey.

Sharon graduated with the 1975 Class of Oxbow Thetford Academy in Vermont and continued her education to receive her Licensed Practical Nurse credentials.  She used her education and worked as an LPN in both hospitals and nursing homes in New Hampshire until she was disabled in 1986.  She enjoyed the Andy Griffith/Mayberry television shows, gardening both flowers and vegetables, and socializing with friends around a pool table.
