Ronald E. Potter, of Elliottsburg, age 82, died on January 24, 2022. Born at home on June 3, 1939 to the late Elmer and Edna (Walker) Potter of Oliver Township, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Beaston) Potter, who died in 2006, a grandson, Ryan Potter, a great grandson, Trevor Potter, and three sisters: Shirley Gaines, Fae Wilson, and Joyce Casner. Ron is survived by his six children: Connie (Raymond) Nace of Landisburg, Kathy Crisamore of Loysville, Linda (Cliff) Baughman of New Bloomfield, Sandra (Bob) Lockey of Loysville, Danny Potter of Greenpark, and Joyce Cross of Milan, TN; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and four siblings: Janet (Larry) Snyder of Newport, Bonnie Howard of Dalmacia, Karen Stnyer of Millerstown, and Daryl Potter of Black Foot, ID.
Ron worked as a diesel mechanic all his life. He enjoyed watching the New York Yankees play baseball and the Cleveland Browns play football, canning, fishing, hunting, and smoking his cigarettes.
Funeral services for Ron will be held on Tuesday, February 1 in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. in Loysville. The visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon and will be officiated by Pastor Jeremy Blair. Interment will follow the funeral service in East Waterford Cemetery.
