Ronald G. Morrison, 82 of Landisburg, peacefully joined his Heavenly Father on November 5, 2025. Born at home on September 18, 1943, to the late George R. and Mildred V. (Sweger) Morrison of Landisburg, Ron is survived by four siblings: Marlin L. Morrison, Blaine E. Morrison, and Carl W. Morrison – all of Landisburg, and Linda Waddish (Clarence) of Carlisle; and a nephew: James Morrison (Erin) of Landisburg. Ron was a fierce mountain man with a tender heart.
Ron was a member of Kennedy Valley Church of God and worked as a laborer for Capital Products, from which he retired in 1982 after 18 years of service. In his retirement, he also worked at Doubling Gap’s Camp YoliJwa (Youth Living Jesus’ Way).
Ron lived on the “family compound” and totally embraced the simple way of living in the mountains. He loved to hunt deer and small game, fish, cut wood, garden to eat from “farm to table”, and bake and cook on his old cook stove. He loved to listen to the radio – which was always tuned to his old country music favorites.
An open-house style public viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 12 in the calming chapel of the Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville from 6 to 8 PM. An open-house style is an informal time of visitation, viewing, and paying respect and condolences to Ron and his family. Please come and visit and share stories as your schedule allows between 6 and 8 PM on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ron’s name to Kennedy Valley Church of God, 951 McCabe Road, Landisburg, PA 17040.
