Ronald Emanuel Obituary

Ronald V. Emanuel, age 84 of Millerstown, died unexpectedly on November 28, 2025, in his home.   Born in Harrisburg on May 28, 1941, to the late King Victor and Hazel Irene (Richter) Emanuel, Ronald is survived by his three children:  Ronald P. Emanuel of Elizabethtown, Naomi M. Maxwell (Russell) of Tipp City, OH, and Elisa M. Ulanoski (Jeff) of Millerstown; three grandchildren:  Mikaela, Elizabeth, and Ethan; and his sister, Diane Stekovich (Robert) of Harrisburg.  In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Nora Luz (Nieves) Emanuel, who died in 2022; grandson, Justin D. Borrell, Jr., who died in 2015; and his brother, Thomas E. Emanuel of Ocala, FL.

After attending Susquehanna Township High School, Ronald proudly served his county in the United States Navy for the next 20 years – definitely a career military man.  He served active duty from 1959 to 1980, obtaining the rank of Quartermaster before discharge.  During his active duty service, he earned the following decorations, medals, badges, commendations and citations:  First Good Conduct Award (for period ending May 15, 1966), Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba), Second Good Conduct Award (for period ending May 15, 1970), Third Good Conduct Award (for period ending May 15, 1974), Fourth Good Conduct Award (for period ending May 15, 1978), Meritorious Unit Commendation (awarded April 1, 1974), and the National Defense Service Medal.  Upon returning to civilian life, Ronald worked at the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot until his retirement in 1999 – service to his country for a total of 40 years!

In his free time, Ronald was a life member of William H. Saylor Veterans of Foreign War Post 34 of Newport and a Legionnaire with the American Legion Post 0177 of Newport.
