Robert Williams, of Shermans Dale, age 73, left this Earth to join his Heavenly Father on December 15, 2021. Born on December 20, 1947 to the late David and Lorene (Bailey) Williams, Jr. of Harvey, IL, Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cindy (Garman) Williams, two daughters: Ashley (Zachary) Williams of Enola and Chelsey (Brittan) Sheriff of Shermans Dale; four grandchildren: Makayla, Hayley, Milla, and Kepri; and seven siblings: Bruce Williams of TX, Denna Culver of AL, Carolyn Stoner of Newport, Sandra Walter of Enola, Janet Smith of Duncannon, Theresa Tharp of Harrisburg, and Wanda Barbaretta of Palmyra. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Summer and six siblings: Daniel Williams, Linda Lawler, Phyliss Para, Joyce Patty, Harold Williams, and Bill Williams.
Bob was a professional residential and commercial painter. He retired in 2009 from Keeley Construction. In his earlier adult career, he also worked for Bethlehem Steel and Williams & Company Painting. Bob was a member of New Life Assembly of God, where he served as both a board member and a leader in Men’s Ministry. He was also a member of Perry County Archers, Carlisle Fish and Game Association, and Enola Senior Citizen Pool League. His daughters bestowed the “Best Dad Ever” award upon him, and he won numerous awards from the Senior Citizens for his athleticism and pool shots. In his personal time, Bob loved spoiling and raising his grandchildren. Family summer vacations were the best at the beach. He was passionate about God, fishing, hunting, boating, and shooting pool. He loved playing card games and taking long walks with his wife.
Funeral services for Bob will be held on Monday, December 20 at New Life Assembly of God, 397 Bridgeport Road, Landisburg, PA 17040. The viewing and visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM, with Pastor Ronald Briggs officiating. Internment will follow the funeral service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Bob’s name to Teen Challenge.
