Gross of Elliottsburg, and Sandra L. Sundy of Carlisle. In addition to his father, Doc is preceded in death by his brother, John W. Sundy.
After high school, Doc became an Autobody Technician, working within the automotive repair and maintenance industry. His last job prior to retirement was with Cross Keys Collision Center, from which he retired in May 2025. He was a previous active member of the Landisburg Volunteer Fire Company, a current member of Blain Sportsman’s Club.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, making them laugh and smile. He enjoyed fishing and dirt track racing. He was a social butterfly who would never turn someone away when they asked for help. He also gained the nicknames of “Perry County Times” and “The Chick’s Greeter” along the way. His huge heart and sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.
A visitation and sharing of condolences will be held with Doc’s family on Saturday, May 9 at the Landisburg Volunteer Fire Company and Ambulance Club from 11 AM to 2 PM. The Celebration of Life will begin at 1 PM, with Gene Arnold officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial donations be sent to Landisburg Volunteer Fire Company or Landisburg EMS, 301 E Faculty Avenue, Landisburg, PA 17040.
