Robert D Stahl

Robert D. Stahl of Loysville, age 87, joined his Heavenly Father on July 6, 2021.  Born on July 21, 1933 to the late Robert M. and Alverta (Flickinger) Stahl of Loysville, he was a devoted husband.  He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carol (Sheriff) Stahl and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, S. Robert Kelly Stahl, and his siblings:  Melvin, Leona, Mary, Thelma, and Anna.  He was born in the same house in which he lived his adult life.

Bob was a proud Army Veteran, who retired from the Youth Development Center in 1995.  Bob was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Loysville, where he served on the Church Council for many years.  He was also a proud member of New Bloomfield VFW 7463, Carlisle AmVets Post 274, Dry Run American Legion Post 232, Blain Fire Company and Ambulance League, Landisburg Fire Company and Ambulance League, Blain Sportsmens Club, Blain Lions Club, and the PA Association of Retired state Employees.  He enjoyed spending time with friends at the former T&T Coffee Club and long fishing trips to Canada.

A public viewing will be held Friday, July 9 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville.  The funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM, with the Reverend Robert Yankovitz officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Restland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blain Ambulance League,4 East Main Street, Blain, PA  17006 OR Landisburg Ambulance League, 301 Faculty Avenue, Landisburg, PA  17040.
