Robert H. Cox

Robert H. Cox, 83, of Landisburg died Wednesday, November 17, 2021.  Born in Asheboro, NC on February 9, 1938 to the late Nathan Howard and Masie (Gibson) Cox, Bob is survived by a son:  Michael Cox; two devoted nieces:  Danielle (Colin) McCaul  and Denise (Daniel) Boeckenhauer; eight grandchildren; one great nephew; several great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Lori (Garry) Mellinger.  In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister Pearl and his wife of 38 years, Barbara (Ernest) Cox, who passed away in 2019.

After Bob completed high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy.  His career also included Carlisle Tire and Rubber, Maslands, and finally welding and metal working at his home business, B&B Stoves, from which he retired in 2018.  Bob was also a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  He loved nature:  fishing, fixing and fabricating things, shooting pool, playing horseshoes and playing frisbee with his beloved dog Ginger.

Services for Bob will be on Friday, November 26 in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville.  The Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 12 noon until 1 PM.  At 1 PM, the memorial service will begin, followed immediately by inurnment in Restland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Penn State Health Children’s Hospital online at https://pennstatehealth.org/childrens/giving or by snail mail at Penn State Health Milton S. Monetary donations will be used by the Child Life Department to purchase supplies for our patients, playrooms and to host events.
