Ricky J. Negley, age 61 of New Bloomfield, passed away on December 23, 2021 surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with a late stage cancer diagnosis. Born in Carlisle on July 19, 1960 to the late Joe Negley and Linda (Weidner) Shearer of Boiling Spring. Rick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife Stacey Lou (Adams) Negley; his step-father, Ron Cauffman, Sr. of Carlisle; his daughter, Jayme and (Clayton) Smith of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren: Emily, Eric, and Jacob Jackson; and five siblings and spouses: Randy and (Candi) Negley of Boiling Springs, Dan and (Jane) Negley of Loysville, Penny and (Gary) Deates of Newville, Robin and (Ralson) Varner of New Bloomfield, and Ron Cauffman, Jr. of Boiling Springs.
Rick spent the majority of his career as a skilled carpenter building beautiful homes. First working for Frank Pottieger, then Farinelli Construction and lastly with his brother Randy of RCN Custom Contracting. His most recent place of employment was Frog Switch Manufacturing in Carlisle. He was a wildlife enthusiast who left a legacy of truly “living off the land”.
Funeral services for Rick will be held on Friday, December 31 in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville. The viewing will be from 10 AM to 12 noon. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon, with Rev. Bill Pipp officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Young’s Church Cemetery in Shermans Dale.
