Phyllis L. (Yarger) Wagner

Phyllis L. (Yarger) Wagner, 90 years young of Shermans Dale, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 3, 2025.  Born on September 22, 1934, to the late Wayde L. and Eleanor V. (Westover) Yarger of Decatur, Phyllis is survived by her three sons:  Carl W. Wagner (Fran) and Todd R. Wagner (Jo-Nell) – both of Newport, and Mark E. Wagner (Beth) of Shermans Dale; three grandchildren:  Ryan Wagner (Kelsey) of Harrisburg, Nash Wagner of New Buffalo, and Victoria Wagner McNaughton (Joshua) of Newport; and six great grandchildren:  Kylie, Kirra, Kloey, Kain, Hank, and Rozlynn. Phyllis is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 65 years, Richard C. Wagner, who died in 2021.  She always put family first and was generous, giving and loving.

Phyllis graduated with the 1952 Class of Philipsburg High School.  She worked for the Credit Bureau of Harrisburg as a Title Searcher until her retirement in 2000.  She was an active member of River of Life Community Church in New Bloomfield.  She enjoyed the simple things of life – her family, reading, watching the birds at the bird feeder, and sitting on the deck and watching the deer graze.

The memorial services for Phyllis will be held in the calming chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21, 2025.  The Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 10 to 11 AM, with the Celebration of Life Service at 11 AM, with Pastor Dennis E. Gerkin officiating.  Inurnment in Bloomfield Cemetery will be held privately.
