Phyllis (Flickinger) Reapsome, age 90 and a lifelong resident of Perry County, joined her Heavenly Father on December 10, 2022. Born at home on May 22, 1932 to the late Newton and A. Mabel (Reber) Flickinger of Blain, Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands; two sons: Daniel Stoke and Michael Stoke; son in law: Dave Brady; and all her siblings: N. Gale Flickinger, Neil Flickinger, Fairy Wilson, Joyce Kirby and Leone Meek. Phyllis is survived by her three children: April Brady of New Bloomfield, P. Robynn (Don) Davis of Elliottsburg, and Kerry “Kurt” (Donna) Stoke, Sr. of Loysville; six grandchildren: Stacey (Rodney) Potteiger, Stefanie (Tom) Gingrich, Kathy (Rick) Shoemaker, Amy (Ray) Lessing, Shanda (CK) Smith, and Kerry Stoke, Jr.; twenty-one great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis graduated from Blain Union High School in 1950. She was a strong woman who always put her family first. She was “the rock” of the family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Loysville and the Madison Grange # 2064. In addition to raising a family and running a household, Phyllis was a secretary at Book of the Month Club until her retirement. She was an avid reader of novels. Aside from spending time with her family, Phyllis found great pleasure in working in her flower gardens. She was so very proud of her portulacas, zinnias, and petunias.
A graveside memorial service is being held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 1:30 PM at the Blain Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Bob Bishard.
