Neil E. Sweger, age 80 of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024, with his devoted wife by his side. Neil was born at home on August 28, 1944, to the late Walter D. Sweger and Dorothy M. (Orris) Sweger Duncan of Loysville. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 40 years, Elaine L. (Humer) Sweger; two stepsons: Timothy D. Miller of Lebanon and Andrew J. Miller of Mechanicsburg; two grandchildren: Tara and Isaiah Miller; and his sister: Faye R. Reisinger of Loysville. In addition to his parents, Neil is preceded in death by his stepson Daniel S. Miller and his sister, Joyce M. Latchford.
Neil graduated with the Green Park Class of 1963. He proudly served his country in the Army. He retired from Groff Tractor, Inc. He was a member of the Blain Sportsman Club, Old Iron Club, and Ickesburg Fire Company.
Funeral services for Neil are Monday, December 2, 2024, at Faith United Church in Ickesburg. The viewing will be held from 10 to 11 AM. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM and will be officiated by Reverend Elaine C. Moyer. Interment will follow the funeral service at Restland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Neil’s name to Homeland at Home, Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 270, Harrisburg, PA 17110 OR Faith United Church, PO Box 100, Ickesburg, PA 17037.
