Myrna Virginia (Neidigh) Lyons of Loysville, age 88, peacefully entered her eternal home on June 29, 2023. Born at home on March 30, 1935 to the late Orth W. and Myra Jane (Peterson) Neidigh of Blain, Myrna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by four children: Cindy J. (Ron) Howell of Mechanicsburg, Trudy A. (John) Liebel of Loysville, Wendy S. Milligan of Elliottsburg, and Brent R. Milligan of Loysville; one stepson, Duane A. Lyons of Elliottsburg; twelve grandchildren: Shane, Chad, and Bree Howell, Trevin and Tregg Liebel, Dylan Naugle, Brendan, Brody and Brock Milligan, Dustin, Shjon and Jesse Lyons. In addition to her late parents, Myrna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Richard “Dick” W. Lyons, who died in 2016, grandson, Terek Liebel, who died in 1992, and siblings: Wahneta McKeehan and Riley Neidigh.
In addition to raising a family and running a household, Myrna worked as a Transportation Coordinator for Perry County until she retired in 2001, after 28 years of service. In Myrna’s own words, “Grandkids were the highlight of my life after my kids.” She was an active member of the community. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, where she served with the Women’s Fellowship, Blain Fire Company, Blain Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and Blain Ambulance Club. Myrna’s passions included attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, sports, family and friends, and babysitting. She was a fabulous cook.
Funeral services for Myrna will wrap around the 4th of July holiday. Please note that there are NO services for Myrna on the 4th! The evening viewing will be held on Monday, July 3 from 6 to 8 PM in the calming chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. in Loysville. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 5 at Zion United Church of Christ in Blain at 11 AM, with a viewing an hour prior from 10 to 11 AM. Pastor Don Funk and Rob Neidigh will be officiating the funeral service. Interment will follow the funeral service in Blain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations made in Myrna’s name to Zion United Church of Christ, 24 W. Main St, Blain, PA 17006 OR Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
