Mary Louise (Achenbach) Dowdrick, 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.

Mary Louise was born Friday, June 16, 1922 to the late John Henry Achenbach and Linda Marie (Carnes) Achenbach. Was a 1939 graduate of Duncannon High School and a 1940 graduate of Central Penna. Business College.

She married Homer L. Dowdrick on October 1, 1940, who passed away in 1960. Mary Louise was employed by the Harrisburg State Hospital as a medical secretary until her retirement in 1982. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John W. Achenbach and grandson, Ersken Richard Kenee, II.

A lifelong member of Christ Reformed Church, Duncannon and faithfully volunteered as the Sunday School pianist, Church Organist and Choir Director for more than 30 years. She was also a member of Perry Chapter #459, O.E.S., the Duncannon High School Alumni Association and sang with the Perry County Choral Society. Music was her passion, but she was an amazing cook, loved working in her flower garden and enjoyed feeding and observing the birds. Also, embroidering, crossword puzzles and traveling, especially to Japan, Portugal and Germany.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda L. Dowdrick, Martin, Gullickson (Wallace) of Littlestown, Donna Ritter (Steve) of Mechanicsburg and Carol Rissinger (Fred) of Duncannon. Also, four grandchildren: Eric Martin, Noelle Belt, Fred Rissinger II and Leah Lepka; three great grandchildren: Tyler Rissinger, Paige Belt and Emma Kenee. Also, survived by brother, George Achenbach of Duncannon.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a time when it is safe to have gatherings. Please watch the website for updates.
