Martha Anna Catherine (Moyer) Holley

Martha Anna Catherine (Moyer) Holley of Elliottsburg, age 84, died on November 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  Martha was born at home on December 4, 1937 to the late Charles and Sarah Katherine (Harris) Moyer of Ickesburg.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her late husband Harvey James Holley, Sr.; three siblings:  Betty Clouser, William Moyer and Charles “Dutch” Moyer; niece, Patricia “Patsy” Hobart; and two nephews:  Glenn Moyer and Charles Clouser.

Martha is survived by her five children:  Sarah “Sue” (Steve) Benedict of Landisburg, Shelby Holley of Carlisle, Karen Holley of Elliottsburg, Harvey Holley, Jr. of Elliottsburg, and Shirley (Joseph) Holley-Heider of Carlisle; three grandchildren:  Kimberly Reisch of Carlisle, Betty (Jeff) Hartman of Duncannon, and Richard Holley of Ickesburg; and two great grandchildren.

In addition to running a household and raising a family, Martha worked as a fruit sorter for Duffy Motts (now Lucky Leaf) in Gardner.  She was a member of Saville Church.

Martha’s services will be held in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. in Loysville.  The visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon on Tuesday, December 6.  The funeral service will be held at 12 noon, with Rev. Elaine Moyer officiating, followed by interment at Mount Vernon Cemetery.
