Lula (Stahl) Kiner, age 94 received her angel’s wings on April 15, 2021. Born on June 20, 1926 at home to the late Clarence and Mary (Gutshall) Stahl of Blain, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray William Kiner, two sons: Robert and Ronald “Satch” Kiner, and two brothers: Vernon and Miles Stahl.
Lula is awarded “Mother of the Year” by her family. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Panilaitis and a son, Roy (Judy) Kiner, both of Blain, a daughter-in-law, Betty Kiner of Blain, and Nola Ramos of Carlisle, 18 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers: Paul Stahl of Newport, Emory (Nellie) Stahl of Greencastle, and Glenn Stahl of Duncannon; and two sisters: Helen Leatherman of Poconos and Doris Maxwell of Newport.
Lula was born and raised in Blain. She raised her family and ran her adult household only miles from her homeplace. She loved her life in Blain, and hardly found a good reason to travel anywhere else.
A public viewing will be held Monday evening, April 19 from 6 to 8 pm in the newly renovated chapel at Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc in Loysville. Masks are preferred, but not required. The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 20 at 10 AM, with Pastor Richard Black officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Blain Cemetery.
