Lester E Blaine, Jr.

Lester E. Blaine, Jr., age 78, of Perry Village died on January 23, 2021.  He was born at home on June 15, 1942, to the late Lester E. and Sara (Rudy) Blaine, Sr. of Mannsville.  Lester is preceded in death by his niece, Lisa.  He is survived by his sister, Linda (Byron Strayer) Sweigart of Newport and several nieces and nephews:  Troy, Tana, Tina and David, all of Newport.

He graduated from Newport High School and continued his education at Thompson Business College, where he earned a degree in Accounting.  He used his accounting skills at Knisely, Anderson and Fry of Hershey.  He proudly served our country as an Army Military Police.  He worked for both Capital Products and Bethlehem Steel.  Lester led a quiet life.  He enjoyed nature and hiking in the woods.  He was an avid reader and wrote from the heart.  He was loving, caring and thoughtful.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lester’s name to the Newport Public Library, 316 N. Fourth Street, Newport, PA  17074.
