Laura Marie (Smith) Daley

Laura Marie (Smith) Daley, 85, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Shippensburg Health Care Center.

Born December 5, 1934 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Sadie E. (Kowalski) Smith. She was a retired Nursing Assistant at Lutheran Home Care; was an aide at the Greencastle Antrim School Library and was a part-time assistant to the school nurse.

Laura was a member of the Antrim Faith Baptist Church and was a member and volunteer at the Senior Center in Waynesboro. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, and cleaning; mostly, she was a devoted mother to her children.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her brothers: Bernard Newstrom and Charles Smith; and her sisters: Irene Borowicz and Shirley Miceli.

Surviving are her children: Robert W. Nolan, Chambersburg, Linda J. Shaffer, Waynesboro, Sherry LaCasse, Waynesboro and Randy Nolan, Chambersburg; 2 sisters: Dorothy Paciocco, Baltimore and Frances Pettie, Baltimore; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and other family members.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be scheduled in the future, when restrictions are lifted.
