Kathryn Anthony Obituary
Kathryn E. (Weaver) Anthony, age 87 of Loysville, gained her angel wings on December 27, 2021. Known by her family as “Gram”, she was born at home on February 12, 1934, to the late Walter and Charlotte (Leidy) Weaver of Marysville. Kathryn is survived by five children: Kathy (Wayne) Snyder of Loysville, Keith (Judy) Anthony of Elliottsburg, Mike Anthony of Landisburg, Walt (Cindy) Anthony of New Bloomfield, and Cindy Huynh of Shermans Dale; fifteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren with two additional little ones on the way, three great great grandchildren; and her sister, Charlotte (Robert) Nesbit of Landisburg and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kathryn is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Leon G. Anthony, who died in 2017; her son, Steven W. Anthony; and six siblings: Dorothy Weaver, Jennie Baer, Helen Foose, Mary Rhoades, John Weaver, and David Weaver. Kathryn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put family first and was generous, giving and loving.
In addition to raising a family and running a household, Kathryn worked as a cook at Tresslers Home and Perry Village, from which she retired in 1996. In her rare free time, Kathryn enjoyed camping and taking care of her family. She consistently cooked Sunday dinner for the entire family – every week, as well as hosting all the holiday meals. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #7463 in New Bloomfield.
Funeral services for Kathryn will be held in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville (3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville, PA 17047) on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. The visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon. The funeral service will be held at 12 PM, with interment following in Bloomfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Kathryn’s name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
