Joseph Wells, Jr., age 68 of Shermans Dale, passed away unexpectedly at Penn State Hershey Medical Center on April 14, 2025. Known to most as “Chico”, Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Barbara (Rothrock) Wells; his mother, Phoebe (Stanley) Wells of Camp Hill; two daughters: Jaime L. Mitten (Jeffrey) of Shermans Dale and Tyffani Frick (Larry) of Mechanicsburg; 17 grandchildren; two, and soon to be three, great grandchildren; three siblings: Terry Wells (Eddie) of MD, Arthus Wells (Karen) of Mechanicsburg, and Leonard Wells (Kim) of Halifax; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joseph is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Wells, Sr.; one son: Joseph Wells, III, who died in 2012; and his granddaughter, Alivia P. Mitten, who died in 2008. Joseph was born in Fredericksburg, VA on April 3, 1957 to the late Joseph Wells and Phoebe (Stanely) Wells, now of Camp Hill. Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joseph was an asphalt paver and sealer, and was self-employed at Profection Sealcoating & Paving. In his rare free time, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf.

Joseph’s funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap.
