John W Gipe

John W. Gipe, age 66, died peacefully at home with his devoted wife by his side on December 16, 2022.  Born in Carlisle on August 24, 1956 to the late Chester and Faye (Knepp) Gipe, John is survived by his wife of 10 years, Connie (Wiles) Gipe.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children:  Joshawa Gipe of Carlisle, Erin Gipe of Newville, Justin Gipe of Carlisle, Cody (Ariel) Gipe of Newport, and Desmond Cooper of Enola; two grandchildren:  Logan and Connor; and two siblings:  Sharon (Jack) Runkle and Bob Gipe, both of Shermans Dale.  In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by two siblings:  Rick and Kim Gipe.

John worked as a handyman, with a specialty in masonry.  He retired in 2021 after working for himself (self-employed), Bitner Brothers in Carlisle, Steve Peters Construction, and Steven Anthony Masonry.  In his free time, John was an avid Steelers fan, loved both his family and his little chihuahua, “Steeler”.  He was passionate about fishing, Westerns, and working.

The funeral services for John will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  John’s family would greatly appreciate any donations made to Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. , PO Box 910, Loysville, PA  17047 to help offset the funeral expenses.
