John Malcolm Boyd, Jr.

 

John Malcolm Boyd, Jr., 63, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away at 9:47 P.M., Saturday, November 18th, at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill , Cumberland County.

John was born in Quanico, VA on November 27, 1953, a son of the late Betty Jean (White) and John Malcolm Boyd, Sr.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Corman and servied in the Vietnam War.

He lateter became an RN where he went from a trauma nurse to a flight nurse in Virginia until he retired from nursing in the late 1980's.

John then owned a small moving business in Woodbridge, Virginia.

"Pops" as he was known as loved to fish, photography and football. He was a long time Redskin fan. But above all his favorit thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by son,John Travis, husband of Audrey Boyd, of Waynesboro, PA; two daughters, Marjorie Sweeney, of Woodbridge, VA; Dawn, wife of Chris Roop, of Woodbridge, VA.  His precious grandchildren William and fiance Cindy of Woodbridge, VA; Shawn of Portage, MI; Autumn of Woodbridge, VA; MaKayla, Matthew, Jacob, Abbigayle and ALexandra all of Waynesboro, PA and Kaleb Room of Woodbridge, VA.; two older siblings, Virginia Glenn and Michael Boyd both of Irondale, Ohio.  John in addition to his parents is preceded in death by a brother Halford Boyd,

His wishes were to be cremated and services will be private.

John's family has entrusted his care to the Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Inc.
