Joel “Joey” Jumper of Shermans Dale, age36, died tragically and unexpectedly on February 17, 2022. Joel was born in Camp Hill on October 24, 1985 to the late Victor Jumper, Jr. and Kerry (Neidig) Jumper of Shermans Dale. In addition to his mother, Joel is survived by his son, Jordan Jumper (and his mother Kara Stine), his daughter Raylyn Jumper (and her mother Shelby Payo), his brothers, Nathan (Emily) Jumper of Shermans Dale and Trevis (Eryn) Jumper of Marysville, his special companion Jennifer O’Neill and his maternal grandmother Charlotte Neidig.
Joel graduated from West Perry High School, where he was a “stud” wrestler at the 125 weight class. After high school, he worked as a concrete finisher for both Tight Lines Concrete Construction of Wellsville and Lorne G Seifert, LLC of Dillsburg.
Joel loved kids. He loved being a father to his own kids, but he also loved mentoring and coaching other kids. He was looking forward to coaching his daughter’s softball team this year. Joel’s mother considered him her “rock”, so his presence is deeply missed. Anyone could simply pick up the phone and call him to ask for his help, and he would immediately show up to fix the problem.
Funeral services for Joel will be held on Friday, February 25 in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville. The viewing will be held from 10 AM to noon. The funeral will begin at noon and will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Karen J. Durbin. Interment will follow the funeral service at Young’s Church Cemetery in Shermans Dale.
Arrangements entrusted to Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. of Loysville.
