Mr. Jay Cecil McCoy, 82, of Landisburg, died Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at UPMC Pinnacle West Shore. He was the husband of Mrs. Peggy Ann Steely McCoy, his wife of 46 years.
Born March 22, 1936, in Blain, he was a son of the late James and Elizabeth Stone McCoy. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. McCoy was a lifelong farmer and cattle dealer.
He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Harrisburg; Zembo Shrine AAONMS; the Harrisburg Forest 43, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; a fifty year member of Carlisle Lodge 260 F&AM; and a sixty year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows 380, New Bloomfield.
Besides his wife, Mr. McCoy is survived by his in-laws, Nancy Amig, Mary and Ralph Hughes, and Harry, Kenneth and Ruth Steely.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Leo McCoy, who died in 2016.
The family will receive friends at Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc., 3626 Sherman's Valley Rd, Loysville, on Tuesday, February 12, beginning at 10:00 AM. The services will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, with a Masonic service followed by a funeral service officiated by Rev. William E. Pipp. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Peter’s Union Churchyard, Spring Township.
