Jack Furler Obituary

Jack L. Furler, 87 of Ickesburg, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026.  He was born in Harrisburg on February 15, 1939, to the late Earl A. and Louella (Stricker) Furler.  He is survived by his last living sibling, Glenn Furler (Vanessa) of Ickesburg; and his niece, Jessica L. Furler of Ickesburg.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother who died when he was 3 years old, Shirley Meyers of Landisburg, and another brother who died at birth.

Jack graduated with the 1958 Class of Greenpark Union High School and then began his career with Capital Products of Carlisle.  He then joined AMP, where he worked his way up through the ranks to become a top manager.  Jack spent most of his career working for Tyco International (formerly AMP), where his work took him across the country and around the world.  Through his career, he experienced places and opportunities that remained an important part of his life. He retired in 1999 after over 30 years of service.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Ickesburg and a familiar presence in the community.  He dedicated many years of service to Ickesburg Fire Company, where he volunteered his time and could often be found helping prepare food for local carnivals and events.  His willingness to lend a hand made him a steady part of the traditions that bring the community together.  He will be remembered for his strong presence, his work ethic, and his long-standing connection to the Ickesburg community.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.  Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
