Gregg is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Deborah Joan (Worthington) Haney, and two children:  Scott Haney, PhD, of Avoca, PA and Jennifer (Kevin) Wadford of Moncks Corner, SC.  In addition to his wife and children, Gregg is survived by three grandson:  Zachary, Nicholas, and Joshua Simmons of Moncks Corner, SC.  Gregg is also survived by four sisters:  Margaret “Peggy” Rohn of Lake Charles, IL, E. Gregg was a member of Eschol Brethren in Christ Church, Newport, where he served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher and Secretary of the Board.  He graduated from West Chicago Community High School in 1971, and continued his college education at Norfolk State in Virginia.  He proudly served his country in the Navy as a nuclear submarine operator, where he earned both a First and Second Good Conduct Award.  Gregg continued his work career as a water plant operator at the Harrisburg Water Authority before he retired as a water plant operator for the Newport Water Authority.

Gregg loved spending time with his family.  He enjoyed tent camping and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.  He was an avid reader.  His favorites subjects included the Civil War, comic books, and fiction.  He will be deeply missed by his dog and cats.

The viewing will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at Eschol Brethren in Christ Church, located at 12755 Buffalo Trace, Newport.  The funeral service will follow the viewing, with Pastor Andy Meiser officiating.  Private interment will follow in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.  Due to the recent outbreaks of COVID, masks will be required and social distancing maintained.
