Herman Kline Obituary

Herman “Herm” Kline, of Loysville, age 88, died on August 6, 2021.  Born in Red Hill, located in Montgomery County, on November 23, 1932 to the late Clayton and Jennie (Delong) Kline, he was a devoted husband and father.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife in 2013, when they would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.  He is survived by three children:  Brian (Donna) Kline of Landisburg, Betty (Rick) Nearhood of New Germantown, and Barry (Stacey) Kline of Loysville, a grandson, Jeramy Nearhood, and a sister, Katherine (David) Moyer of Barto.  In addition to his parents and beautiful bride, Herm is preceded in death by three brothers:  James Kline, David Kline, and Robert Kline, and two sisters:  Doris Henry and Irene Taglever.

Herm worked for 38 years at Knoll International as an Upholstery Supervisor, retiring at age 50.  He then joined his son in self-employment – carpentry, welding, auto repair, tearing down and re-erecting barns, carpet installation, and farming.  In June, Herm helped with raking and making hay, and in January he shot a buck with his muzzleloader.  He loved being outside.  He was passionate about hunting and fishing.

A memorial service will be held later at the convenience of the family.
