Landisburg, Pennsylvania

Harry L. Hench, age 91, of Landisburg passed away unexpectedly at Holy Sprit Hospital on January 6,2019.

He was born in Lancaster County to Lester S. and Helen( Gutshall )Hench.

Harry graduated from Blain Union High School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers M. Dale Hench and Alvus E. Hench; a sister, Carrie Milligan and beloved wife June, who died May 3, 2018

He was a farmer for many years, worked for the Atlantic Refining Company, Sherwin Williams and Fluorescent Supply. Harry and his wife owned Hench’s Grocery in Blain.

Harry was a longtime member of the Blain Lions Club.

He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Docherty of Sebring, Florida; son Terrence Hench of Loysville, Pennsylvania; granddaughters, Jill Stoner of Middletown, Pennsylvania; Tara Berdo of Carlisle; Susan Swidersky of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Barbara Cronan of Reading, Pennsylvania; grandson, Zachary Hench of Fort Murray, New Jersey; and 12 great grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Zion United Church Of Christ in Blain, Pennsylvania where he was a member.
