Harold R. Casner 75 of Loysville passed away Friday March 18 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Loysville, he was the son of the late Harold Lee and Mable Jean Barnes Casner.
Harold was a Marine Corps Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal with devices, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Harold retired from UPS with 34 years of service, and a member of the Sherman's Valley Heritage Days.
Harold enjoyed reading the newspaper, doing word searches, traveling, and most of all being Pappy to his grandkids.
Harold is survived by his wife of 52 years Beverly Irene Sherman Casner, two sons David Lee (Jayme) of Loysville, Dennis Allan (Andrea Carbaugh) of Newport, 1 brother Ronald Lee Casner (Annamarie), two sisters Betty Jane Thomas (Kenneth) and Sandra K. Schumacher, all of Loysville, three grandchildren Tarryn Elizabeth, Katelyn Irene and Owen Seth, 4 nephews and 1 niece.
Funeral Services for Harold with be held Tuesday March 22 in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home Inc. in Loysville. The viewing will be held from 9am to11am. The Funeral Service will begin at 11am with Rev. Bradley Bennett officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Blain Cemetery.
