February 5, 1947 ~ October 7, 2020 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Gloria Turman Obituary

On October 7, 2020, Gloria Jean (Reitenbach) Turman lost her courageous and lengthy battle against cancer at age 73.  She had several nicknames that she was known by:  “Aunt G”, “Little Lady”, and “GiGi”  She was born at home on February 5, 1947 to the late Lester Russell and Violet Mary Elizabeth (Kauffman) Reitenbach of Enola.  She is survived by her husband of 25 years, George W Turman of Blain, a daughter Tracy Brown of Mechanicsburg, and special daughter in law, Leslee Turman of New Bloomfield, and a sister, Beverly Sterner of Mechanicsburg.  Gloria is also survived by a niece, Christina Lehman of Mechanicsburg and a nephew, William Sterner of Elliotsburg, as well as several great nieces and nephews.  In addition to her late parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her son, Robert Martin and her brother, Russell Lester Reitenbach.  Bailey, Gloria’s canine companion, and Jonas and Baby, the feline companions will dearly miss Gloria.

Gloria attended East Pennsboro High School.  She worked as George’s “right-hand” at Turman’s General Store, known for its cheese.  She continued her career as an Associate at Walmart in Mechanicsburg, from which she retired in 2018.  She was always a conscientious and dependable worker.  In her free time, she loved Facebook memes and games.

Gloria’s Gathering of Friends and Family will be held in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. (3626 Shermans Valley Road) in Loysville on Tuesday, October 13 from 11 AM to 12 noon, with the graveside service immediately following at Blain Cemetery.  Reverend William Pipp will be officiating.
