Glenn E McClintock

Glenn E. McClintock, age 79 of Millerstown, passed away June 3, 2026, at Perry Village.  Glenn was born at home on November 30, 1946, the only child of the late Kenneth S. and Mary A. (Gutshall) McClintock of Landisburg, and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary (Roman) McClintock; two children:  Michael G. McClintock of Elizabethtown and Lisa M. Landis (Nick) of Linglestown; and five grandchildren.

Glenn attended Green Park Union High School, then entered the workforce as a laborer with Kell’s Sawmill, and added Bedford Shoe Factory (Kinney), P.R. Hoffman Company (Piezo Crystal), Capitol Products, M&G Thermal, and West Perry School District to his work history over the years.  He retired from West Perry School District in 2011.

In his younger years, he and friends or family would help repair each other’s cars and trucks, even replacing entire engines.  He enjoyed listening to what was country music back then, and could whistle a tune beautifully, or a bird song that could fool even the birds.  He preferred a short beard to being clean-shaven and was rarely found without a cap on his head.  He was proud to live in Perry County, and, like his parents, chose to burn wood for heat, which required a lot of work over the years.  When his children were old enough to help with the back-breaking process of cutting, chopping, and manually hauling the wood, they would sometimes make a game of it, tossing the chunks from one to the other to load the cart, and then after lugging it to the basement, the “game” would resume as the wood was unloaded to be sorted and ranked for use.

He was fairly young when he started to experience painful arthritis in his knees, which should have been replaced much sooner, and led to him finding his favorite spot in the house: his recliner, where he would spend time enjoying westerns, The Grand Ole Opry, and anything else he found interesting.  As the years and technology progressed, he found new hobbies, such as perusing the internet to find items that weren’t necessarily of great value, but which were important to him to have in his collection of things, as well as interacting with friends and family via social media.

Glenn was proud of his son for getting his GED, and then later getting his CDL and driving all over the country, and he even joined Mike on a few local runs.  One of the highlights of his life was going on his only real vacation in 2014, when he and his wife joined their daughter’s family on a trip to Gatlinburg, TN.  He got to experience the Great Smoky Mountains, a scenic drive in both directions on Tail of the Dragon, and the influx of old cars for the annual Shades of the Past car show in Pigeon Forge.  He was very fond of old cars, especially those from the 1950’s era, and built a modest collection of model cars that brought him great joy.

There is no memorial service planned at this time.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, which can be made on-line at https://www.heart.org/.
