Gerald R. Orris

Gerald R. Orris, 91, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at his home in Shermans Dale.
Born March 2, 1929 in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Russell L. and Marie (Shope) Orris, was retired from Carlisle Tire and Rubber and was a member of the Carlisle Eagles.
In addition to working full time, Gerald was a hardworking farmer, raising dairy cows, grains and corn.  To relax, he and his wife would go to the Shermans Dale Community Center on Friday nights for live music.
His beloved wife, Clara (Bailey) Orris passed away in 2014 after 64 years of marriage.  In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald was preceded in death by his half-sister, LaRue Yinger.
Surviving are his sons:  Gerald E. Orris, Shermans Dale and Fred R. Orris (and wife, Mary), Carlisle; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be held at Snyder’s Church Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  A memorial service will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather.
