Our Beloved Gary L. Kerchner, age 70 of Loysville, passed away unexpectedly in his home on May 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Allentown on February 22, 1956, to the late Patsy Ann (Kerchner) Destalo, Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Emma E. Kerchner - though they were together for 34 years; three children: Dawn Marie Valencia, Ian Kerchner and Chad Kerchner; five grandchildren: Alexis Hinkle, Lindzy Kerchner, Wesley Kerchner, Austin Nielsen, and Kylie Buehler; great granddaughter, Korah Lee; and three siblings: Tina Destalo-Dubs, Donna Christman, and John Destalo. In addition to his mother, Gary is preceded in death by his son, Donald Little, who died 18 years ago.
Gary graduated with the 1974 Class of Upper Perkiomen High School. He began his career as a butcher for a large meat processing corporation in Souderton. He then relocated to Mechanicsburg and was better known for his work as a Polar Cutter with Fry Communications, Inc. from which he retired with over 20 years of service.
Gary was a peaceful man who loved to enjoy nature and reading a good book. He was a dedicated Eagles fan. He also loved taking his dog out for walks around the field. During his retirement he was chipping away at his honey do list - to which he normally replied "I'll do it tomorrow" haha. He loved a good get-together, spending time with friends and family, but his favorite spot was on his chair playing along with game shows and watching his favorite series.
In loving memory, you will be missed every day.
Gary’s services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association on-line at https://www.heart.org/en/honor-memorial
Arrangements entrusted to Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc.
