Gary Lee Gutshall

Gary Lee Gutshall, 71, of Blain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 3, 2020.

Gary was the son of the late Richard Lee and Freda Geraldine (Davis) Gutshall of New Germantown, PA.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Stephanie O'Shura. Son Duane (wife Jen) of Royersford, PA; Daughter Tawnya Andersen (husband Steve) of Apollo Beach, FL. A sister Gloria Jean Gutshall of Millerstown, PA; and 2 brothers: Rick Gutshall (wife Ethel) of Loysville, PA and Maynard Smith of Altoona, PA. Four grandchildren, Allie Andersen, Toby Andersen, Ashley Gutshall and Jordyn Gutshall, an uncle, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Gary graduated in 1967 from West Perry High School after which he served with the US Marines during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Quaker Oats, Masland, Lowes and as a heavy equipment operator; he also was the owner/operator of the Country Crossroads restaurant in Kistler where he was instrumental in starting local "jam" sessions playing his guitar.

Upon retirement Gary lived his "dream" as a full-time "RV-er" traveling with his "best friend Louie" to 48 States and spending the winter in Florida. Earlier in life Gary loved pulling pranks with his buddies, hunting and coaching baseball. Gary had a passion for fishing: it gave him great joy to take his buddies, family and friends fishing or just out for a ride on his pontoon boat. Gary loved life and people!! He truly was a very kind, fun-loving compassionate man!!! He will surely be missed by all!!!!

Gary and Stephanie were a team and fought hard hand in hand to make it thru his recent diagnosis. God was ready to take Gary home and he will always be in Stephanie's heart!!!

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 11:30 am Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Blain Cemetery with Pastor Jeramy Nearhood officiating. Covid-19 protocols of face coverings and social distancing will be requested.
