Florence (Milligan) Emlet

On December 5, 2021, Florence (Milligan) Emlet left this Earth to join her Heavenly Father at age 91.  She was born at home on October 2, 1930 to the late Van and Jean (Ernest) Milligan of Loysville.  Florence was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to all.  She is survived by her four children:  Jerry (Marylou) Emlet of Easley, SC, Marla (Lee) Shull of Landisburg, Crista (Bill) Lyons of Loysville, and Lori (David) Weaver of Landisburg; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; her sister, Martha Loy of Carlisle, and four sisters-in-law, Miriam Emlet of Loysville, Phyllis Milligan of Carlisle, Edna Milligan of Loysville, and Kay Milligan of Northumberland.  In addition to her parents, Florence is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Ronald Emlet, who died in 2018; her son, David Emlet, and ten siblings:  John Milligan, Janette Albright, Minnie Shull, Marietta Shields, Edna Clark, Esther Smith, Henry “Ernie” Milligan, Robert Milligan, Richard Milligan, and Edwin “Ted” Milligan.

Florence proudly raised a family and managed the household.  She was a faithful member of Tressler Free Lutheran Church in Loysville.  She was known for her beautiful flower beds and her great sense of humor.  She loved visiting her family, cooking, baking, crocheting, embroidery, reading, and putting jigsaw puzzles together.

Florence’s Gathering of Friends and Family will be held at Tressler Memorial Free Lutheran Church in Loysville on Saturday, December 11 from 9:30 to 11 AM.  The memorial service will be held at 11 AM, with Pastor David Lusk officiating.  The family would like to thank Chapel Point at Carlisle for their loving care of Florence during her short time there.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tressler Memorial Free Lutheran Church, PO Box 904, Loysville, PA  17047.
