Elizabeth Kessler Obituary

Elizabeth Marie (Ross) Kessler, age 63 of Landisburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 5, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.  Known to most people as “Betsy”, she was born in Carlisle on January 27, 1963, to the late LaRoy H. and Leona M. (Behrens) Ross.  She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, David E. Kessler, Sr.; four children:  David E. Kessler, Jr. (Rebecca) of Landisburg, Justin E. Kessler (Melanie) of Newville, Brandon L. Kessler and Naomi M. Kessler – both of Landisburg; her five cherished grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.

Betsy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother whose life was defined by compassion, strength, and unwavering love.  She carried herself with a quiet grace – always placing others before herself and offering comfort in even the smallest moments.

Over the past five years, Betsy faced Pulmonary Fibrosis with remarkable courage and resilience.  Despite the challenges she endured, she continued to show strength, perseverance, and faith.  Even on the hardest days, her love for her family never wavered.  She met her illness with dignity -- holding onto hope and finding peace in the presence of those she loved most.

Betsy found beauty in the world around her.  She loved her summer flowers and the peace of the beach – where the sound of the waves brought her comfort and calm.  She also held a special place in her heart for cardinals -- believing they carried a deeper spiritual meaning.  Now, when a cardinal appears, it will serve as a gentle reminder that her spirit is near – watching over her family and sending signs of love from above.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held.  Memorial donations can be made to Sheaffer’s Valley Church of God, 814 McCabe Road, Landisburg, PA  17040.
