Doris V. (Rowe) Shull, lovingly known to her family as “Tutu,” age 95, of Loysville, passed peacefully on February 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 12, 1930, to the late Chester C. and Marie Pearl (Nesbit) Rowe, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Shull (2016) and two daughters, Gina Emelio (2017) and Gianna Thompson (2024).
Doris is survived by her children: Geri Silbaugh of Loysville; Gaylyn Murphy of North Beach, MD; Harold Shull, Jr. of Lindwood; Gloria Ricketts of SD; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Doris graduated from Landisburg High School in 1948 and completed her Business Certificate at Bowie State College. While raising her family, she served as a teacher’s assistant at local elementary schools. She later became the bookkeeper for Dr. Damalouji, retiring in 1984 after 25 years of dedicated service. A woman of deep faith, Doris was a longtime member of the Church of the Living Christ in Loysville.
Doris had an adventurous spirit and traveled to all fifty states and abroad. She found joy in reading, learning, crocheting, doing puzzles, and above all, spending time with her family, especially during Sunday dinners. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose steady faith and loving heart shaped generations.
Doris’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Living Christ, 2401 Fort Robinson Road, Loysville, PA 17047, with Pastor Ethan Swartz officiating.
