Dean Pannebaker Obituary

Dean “Sonny” Pannebaker, 83, of Landisburg died Friday, December 25, 2020.  Dean was born at home in Loysville on December 4, 1937 to the late Clarence and Helen (Weibley) Pannebaker-Goodling.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Nancy (Spicher) Pannebaker, and two children:  Pamela Le (Lee) Dobbs of Newport and Keith (Melinda) Pannebaker of Boiling Springs.  Dean will be deeply missed by his 7 grandchildren (listed with the 4 great grandchildren):  Melissa (Josh) Darr of Carlisle (Regan and Chase), Brian Dobbs of Newport, Denise Dobbs of Newport, Amanda Dobbs of Murphysboro, TN, Karen (Jason) Snyder of Millerstown (Gracelyn and Amelia), Brandon (Lily) Pannebaker of Carlisle, and Matthew Pannebaker of Boiling Springs.  In addition to his wife, 2 children, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, Dean is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Maxine) Pannebaker of Carlisle.  In addition to his parents, Dean is preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Marie Gill.

Dean was a lifelong farmer and loved being outside tinkering on his tractors.  He retired from Glen Moore Transport as a mechanic.  He also worked as a meat cutter for Arnold Food Market, Carlisle Food Market, and Kling’s Meat Market.  Dean loved anything mechanical and fishing in Canada.  He enjoyed restoring “the RIGHT green colored” tractor – the Oliver.  In addition to belonging to Messiah Lutheran Church in Elliottsburg, Dean also belonged to Keystone Oliver Collectors of PA, Club Mason Dixon, Oliver Cletrac Collectors Association, and the Club Hart-Parr Oliver Collector Association.

Memorial donations may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 70 Limestone Ridge Road, Elliottsburg, PA  17024, or a charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family, with interment following at Restland Cemetery, with Pastor Eric Petty officiating.
