DAVID PETER RADLE JR., age 77 of Landisburg, entered into rest on Friday, July 26, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Carlisle on February 22, 1947, a son of the late David Peter Radle, Sr., and Bertha Mildred (Kell) Radle. On October 31,1987, in Ickesburg, he married the former Betty Jane Rice, who survives.
David attended both the Perry Joint School and the Eshcol Brethren in Christ Church, Newport. In his earlier life, he was employed at the Gibson Block Company of Carlisle; in recent years, he operated his own independent firewood business.
In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by the following children: Lisa Erb of Millerstown; Lori (Paul) Schnitzer of New Bloomfield; Julie Bechtel of New Bloomfield; Thomas Radle of Burnham; Brian (Lindsey) Radle of Shermans Dale; Jennifer Radle of Landisburg; and a step-daughter, Sherrie Collins of Shermans Dale. He was preceded in death by a son, David Patrick Radle, who died in February, 2004. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three siblings: Joyce Meyer of Duncannon, Jean (Bob) Sharar of Newport; Daniel Radle of Newport, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services honoring David on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nickel-Lochstampfor Funeral Home, 3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville, with Rev. Joseph L. Shepherd, officiating. Visitors may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning after 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be made in the Saint Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Landisburg.
