David Edward Kell

David Edward Kell, 97 of Ickesburg, entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2025.  He was born at home on July 5, 1927, to the late Arthur L. and Ethel M. (Kingsborough) Kell of Ickesburg.  He is survived by his three children:  David E. Kell (Beverly) of Ickesburg, Eva “Karen” Group of Elliottsburg, and Trudy R. Lackey (Vincent) of Ickesburg, and; twelve grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Dessie Margaret (Hockenberry) Kell; his grandson Matthew E Kell who died in 2021; and his sisters:  Nina Lilley and Mary Perkey.

David attended Ickesburg schools and worked and owned the family farm and sawmill.  He also worked for, and retired from, Waste Management in the early 2000s.  In his spare time, he loved to square dance and was a member of the Central Pennsylvania Callers Association and the Millerstown Moose Lodge #925.  He loved to tinker on his tractors around the farm.

The evening visitation for David will be held on Thursday, February 6 from 6 to 8 PM in the calming chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc in Loysville.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7 at 11 AM, with Rev. Elaine A Moyer officiating.  There will be an additional hour of visitation just prior to the funeral service (10 – 11 AM).  Interment will follow the funeral service in Blain Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to either Landisburg EMS, 301 E Faculty Avenue, Landisburg, PA  17040 or Ickesburg Fire Department, 10350 Raccoon Valley Road, Ickesburg, PA  17037.
