Darlene L. (Sheriff) Collins, 83 of Perry Village, gained her angel wings on December 31, 2024. Darlene was born at home on December 13, 1941, to the late William H. and Mildred R. (Wilt) Sheriff of Andersonburg. She is survived by her estranged daughter, Christine L. Mechling of Loysville, three grandchildren: James G. Collins (Stephany) of Carlisle, Joshua Collins of Pittsburgh, and Dani Brookhart of Mount Joy; and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by her son James W. Collins and her sister Betty A. Sheriff.
Darlene graduated with the 1960 Class of Blain Union High School. She worked in a clerical role for many years and retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance. She was an active member of Three Springs Church in Blain. She was the caregiver for decades for both Mildred (her mother) and Betty Ann Sheriff (her sister). This lady of faith loved her family! According to her grandson, “She was the best Grandma ever!”
