Charlotte M (Weaver) Nesbit

Charlotte M (Weaver) Nesbit, age 78, of Landisburg, unexpectedly entered her eternal home on Saturday, June 24, 2023.  Known to most as “Nanny”, Charlotte was born in Mechanicsburg on June 13, 1945 to the late Walter E and Charlotte A (Leidy) Weaver.  She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Robert L Nesbit; son, Douglas Nesbit of York; grandchildren:  Derek (Amy) Nesbit and Carly Nesbit, both of Landisburg; four great grandchildren:  Mercedes, Leyna, Aaliyah, and Denni; and two great great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Nesbit in 2000; grandson, William Sweger in 2017, and all her siblings:  John P Weaver, David J Weaver, Mary A Minnich, Katherine E Anthony, Jennie L Baer, and Helen L Foose.

Charlotte’s family described her as a person who always gave happiness and put other’s needs and wants before her own.  This caring, selfless, loving woman’s out-of-home career included working at the sewing factory in New Bloomfield, housekeeping in Perry Village, and some in-home care for those who needed the extra help.  In addition to reading and playing with all the grandchildren (grands, greats, and great greats), Charlotte was a fabulous cook and had a tremendously green thumb – evidenced by her blooming African violets and Christmas cacti.

A viewing and time to wish condolences to the family will be held on Wednesday, June 28 in the calming chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. in Loysville from 6 to 8 PM.
