Cathie (Casner) Reisinger, age 68, joined her Heavenly Father on January 28, 2021. Born in Harrisburg on September 24, 1952 to the late Leo and Helen Louise (Mutzabaugh) Casner of Newport, Cathie is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Frederick Reisinger of Elliottsburg. In addition to her husband, Cathie is survived by her two sons: Matthew (Karla) Reisinger of Goodyear, AZ and Michael (Heidi) Reisinger of Elliottsburg; three grandchildren: Jebadiah and Joseph Reisinger of Elliottsburg, and Zoe Reisinger of Goodyear, AZ; and four siblings: Nancy Page of New Bloomfield, C. Edward (Linda) Casner of Mill Hall, Terry (Sue) Casner of Pine Grove, and Charles “Chuck” (Barb) Lamoreaux of Taneytown, MD. In addition to her late parents, Cathie is preceded in death by her sister, Connie Mulligan of Jupiter, FL. Cathie loved her family tremendously and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a member of the Faith United Church in Ickesburg. Cathie graduated from the Newport High School in 1969. In addition to managing a home and raising a family, she worked at West Perry School District, Blue Shield and Perry County Transportation, from which she retired in 2012. She also assisted with the family dairy and poultry farming operations.
Cathie thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to her weekly lunch out with friends. In addition to her hobbies of cooking, sewing, canning, and arts and crafts, she also loved attending live country music shows both locally and in Nashville. Luke Bryant was her favorite artist. Be prepared to lose if she challenged you to a board game or a game of cards. Her favorite bus trips were to Williamsburg, VA and Wheeling, WV.
The graveside service for Cathie will be held for friends and family at Buffalo Cemetery on Thursday, February 4 at 1 PM, with the Rev. Elaine Moyer officiating. This service will follow the COVID parameters of social distancing with masks required. Seating will be provided for the immediate family only at graveside, so please consider providing your own folding chair if you need to sit down during this service.
