Catherine J (Saylor) Morrison

Catherine J. (Saylor) Morrison, age 85 of Newport, earned her angel wings on January 26, 2024.  Catherine was born January 25, 1939 in Newport to the late L. Carl and Alice E. (Brown) Saylor.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Lee E. Morrison; two children:  Danny A. (Debra) Morrison of Newport and Nicki L. Weiser of Dover; three grandchildren:  Shana E. Weiser of Mechanicsburg, Jesse R. Weiser of Dover, and Heather R. (David) Howard of Davis, CA; and two siblings:  Robert J. Saylor of Liverpool and Jennie L. Weary of Loysville.  She will be dearly missed by her English pen pal of over 65 years, Julie French.  In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her brother, Carl E. Saylor.

Catherine graduated with the Greenwood High School Class of 1957 and continued her education to graduate from the Kendell Beauty School Class of 1958.  Throughout the years, she worked in Amity Hall Inn, New Bloomfield Dress in Newport, Eileen Hope, Perry Village, Keystone Hotel kitchen, Copper Frog kitchen, and retired from Newport Senior Citizens Center in 2013, after 20 years of service.  In her free time, she volunteered at Perry Village and with Meals on Wheels delivery.  She was also a Newport School aid.  She was an active member in Perry Valley Grange and Red Hill Church.  She was a beautiful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

The graveside service will be privately held at Indiantown Gap.
