Catherine I (Smith) Comp

Catherine (Smith) Comp, age 88 of Landisburg, died on January 2, 2022.  Born on February 26, 1933 to the late Lowrie and Cora (Fenton) Smith, Kate is survived by her son Rickey (Diann) Comp of Landisburg, five grandchildren:  Megan, Nicholas, Adrian and Cody Comp of Millerstown, and Nathan Comp of Hershey; and her three brothers:  Ervin (Catherine) Smith, Ernest (Phebe) Smith and Carl (Betsy) Smith, all of Carlisle.  In addition to her parents, Kate is preceded in death by her two children:  Eugene Comp and Maxime Comp

In addition to raising a family and maintaining a household, Kate worked as a laborer for Carlisle Ribbon Mill and CH Masland and Sons.  Her favorite pastimes were cooking big family dinners (Sunday and Holidays), cleaning out flowerbeds, and building dams in the creek.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, located at 3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville, PA  17047 from 11 AM to 12 noon.  The funeral service will begin at 12 noon.  Inurnment will be a week later at Landisburg Cemetery at 1 PM on Thursday, January 13.
