Carol Guyer Obituary

Carol “Sue” Guyer, age 71 of Loysville, joined her Heavenly Father on May 7, 2026.  Born in Carlisle on September 23, 1954, to the late Charles Lee and Ada Vivian (Kretzing) Guyer, Sue is survived by her siblings:  Sandy F. Baughman (Ken) of Loysville and Shawn L. Guyer (Laura) of Elliottsburg; five nieces and nephews:  Jacob A. Baughman (Jamie) of Landisburg, Julie M. Baughman of Newport, Jeffery S. Baughman of Loysville, Abbey B. Merendino (John) of Waxhaw, NC, and Patrick L. Guyer of Carlisle; and a great nephew, Camden and a great niece, Reese.

Sue graduated with the 1972 Class of West Perry High School and joined Anderson Veterinary and later Tri-County Veterinary, as a Veterinary Assistant.  She worked for 43 years until her retirement in 2016.  Sue was also an active member at Mannsville Lutheran Church in Elliottsburg.  She will always be remembered as an enthusiastic volunteer in her church and community!  She served her church, Mannsville Lutheran, as a youth leader, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School helper, and Ladies Aide member all her adult life.  She also passionately served as a Girl Scout leader for many years.  Sue was very energetic in organizing events and fundraisers for the Loysville Community Club.  She most recently enjoyed organizing social events for her neighbors and friends at Shermans Valley Apartments, where she resided since her retirement from Tri-County Veterinary Services in 2016.

As Sue requested, she is having a simple closed-casket graveside service at 11 AM on Thursday, May 14 at Eshcol Memorial Cemetery (new), located at the following coordinates: 40.46078, -77.29784, with Pastor Dennis Probst officiating.  There will be a time to greet the family and offer condolences following the interment at Mannsville Lutheran Church, 2944 Mannsville Road, Elliottsburg, PA  17024.  Memorial donations can be made in Sue’s name to Mannsville Lutheran Church, 2944 Mannsville Road, Elliottsburg, PA  17024.
