Carl Edward Thomas, 83 of Landisburg, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025. Born at home on February 5, 1942, to the late Dorf and Ethel Mae (Wilt) Thomas of Blain, Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Carol Mae (Foose) Thomas; two children: Matthew D. Thomas (Susan) of Frederick, MD and Angela J. Turner (Kenneth) of Enola; four grandchildren: Andrew C. Thomas, Erin A. Thomas, Sara C. Turner, and Hannah M. Turner; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his three siblings: Neil Thomas, Hooke Thomas, and Lois Foreman.
Carl graduated from the 1960 Class of Blain High School and continued his education at Thompson Institute in Harrisburg, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Business. He retired in 2001 from the former Electronic and Unit Record Datacenter, Inc. (EUR) of Mechanicsburg, where he worked for over 30 years. He was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ in Landisburg.
Carl was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved watching Duke basketball, Penn State Football, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a die-hard Philadelphia Phillies fan. He also loved following all his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He especially enjoyed family gatherings and catching up with his friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025 at New Hope United Church of Christ, 108 S. Carlisle Street, Landisburg, PA 17040. The closed casket visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Josh Craley officiating. The private interment will be held in Elliottsburg Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made in Carl’s name to New Hope United Church of Christ, 108 W. Carlisle Street, Landisburg, PA 17040.
